Donovan Leandro Ramos, age 21, of Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in Street, Maryland. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland.
Donovan is survived by a large, loving and devoted family including his mother, Amanda (Jorge) Reynolds-Nixon; his father, Rene (Julia) Ramos; his sisters, Alani, Valencia, Miranda, and Ioana; his brothers, Moises, Cortes, and Noe; his grandmother, Deborah Mullins; his grandfather, Steven Reynolds; his great-grandmother, Shirley Morrison; his aunts, Stephanie (John) Altounian, Lilian Ramos, and Theodora (Marcos) Pestana; his uncle, Santiago Ramos; his long-time mentor, Dr. David Hairston; and his three best friends, Isaiah Matthews, Jonas Hairston, and Stephen Godwin, Jr. Donovan is also survived by many cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers Charles Mullins and Daniel Morrison, and great-grandparents, Jack and Nancy Reynolds.
Donovan was a Technology Specialist for Energies Technology Center, serving locations in Indian Head and Aberdeen, Maryland. He had a deep passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, rock climbing, bouldering, and camping. A devoted gamer, Donovan loved video games and had a strong appreciation for classic rock and alternative rock music. He was very handy and took great pride in working on his Honda Civic and was always willing to lend his skills to help family members whenever needed.
Donovan was actively involved in STEM outreach programs, including Tech Brick Education and Robomasterminds, where he participated for five years beginning in the 8th grade through high school. After completing the program, he returned as a mentor, demonstrating his commitment to education and giving back to community youth. He also participated in internship programs through the Army Research Laboratory supporting their robotics research, including the design and construction of an adaptive robotic hand. During high school, he enjoyed running track and playing trombone in the Edgewood High School marching and concert bands. He also played trombone as a member of the Marching Band at the University of Delaware.
