Donna Ruth Fowler, age 85, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Born in New Jersey, she was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond De Vries and Charlotte M. (Reith) De Vries. She was the devoted wife of the late Melvin E. Fowler, with whom she shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.
Donna was a devoted member of her community and faith. She was active at the First Presbyterian Church of Bel Air, where she faithfully served as a Deacon. Donna enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life and was known as an avid card player who loved reading books, playing and watching tennis, and creating knitting projects. She also enjoyed participating in water activities, and even competed in the Senior Olympics, earning a silver medal. She treasured the friendships and memories made through her many activities, including her most recent years with her condo association. Above all, Donna loved spending time with her family and took great joy in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow.
Donna is survived by her loving daughters, Cynthia (Robert) Lanzendoen, Laurie (Vincent) Marino, and Karen (Arthur) Hydress; her cherished grandchildren, Steven Lanzendoen and his fiancée, Jackie Luz Nebiar, Bethany Lanzendoen (Alex) Kane, Gary Lanzendoen and his fiancée, Madeline Schwartz, Jacob (Brooke) Marino, Kendyl Marino (Chad) First, Sam Marino, Mackenzie Hydress (Tyler) Randlett, Madison Hydress, and Ethan Hydress; and her adored great-grandchildren, Maxine Kane, Lennox Kane, Xavier Kane, Abigail First, and Sadie First. She is also survived by her brothers, Paul (Laura) De Vries and Raymond (Patricia) De Vries.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Donna was preceded in death by her brothers, William De Vries and Donald De Vries.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St.Jude Children's Research Hospital
A visitation for family and friends will be held on June 13, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church of Bel Air beginning at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with a reception immediately afterward at the church.
