Donald Jester

Donald Jester, age 93, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away on July 6, 2024, at Elkton Nursing and Rehabilitation in Elkton, MD. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Bernard John and Lula Marie (Hoericks) Jester.

A proud member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union, Donald was known for his passion for cars and his love for steaming and eating crabs. He taught his children the art of picking crabs from a young age. Donald was often behind the camera, capturing cherished family moments.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Margaret Jester; his daughter, Carolyn (Paul) Jester; his son, Steven (Carrie) Jester; his granddaughter, Kara Jester; and his treasured grand dogs, Shadow and Cora.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Maryland SPCA.

Donald will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His love for life, family, and the simple joys will forever be remembered.
