Donald Stephen Gross

Donald Stephen Gross, 75, of Street, Maryland, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Donald spent the majority of his life in Harford County, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and the simple pleasures he cherished.

Donald was the beloved son of the late Donald Eugene Gross and Lucille (Slade) Gross.

A proud graduate of North Harford High School, Donald remained closely connected to his alma mater, faithfully attending alumni sporting events and participating in the alumni association. Raised on a dairy farm, he developed a lifelong appreciation for hard work and the outdoors, values that stayed with him throughout his life.

Donald was a proud, loving, and devoted father and grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He deeply loved his daughter, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and coworkers, always placing family above all else.

For the past 25+ years, Donald was a dedicated employee at Fallston Liquors, where he formed many lasting friendships. He also took great pride in his lawn and garden, enjoying gardening and growing crops, and spent many summers cutting grass as a side business.

An avid automobile enthusiast, Donald loved cars and owned many different vehicles throughout his lifetime. Trading in one car for the next was one of his greatest passions, as he always looked forward to experiencing the latest model behind the wheel.

Donald was an enthusiastic supporter of local sports teams and enjoyed football, soccer, baseball, and virtually every sport. He treasured family traditions, including collecting Christmas cards from loved ones each year. Although technology rapidly changed the world around him, Donald preferred the simplicity of earlier times and found happiness in life's familiar routines.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Christy Barbalate; his cherished grandchildren, Orion and Lira Barbalate; his sisters, Joan Hennesey, Linda Pugh, and Mary Francis Bollino; his nephews, Michael Pugh, Vincent Bollino, and Kyle Hennesey; and his niece, Lisa Bollino Meiggs, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Donald's kindness, unwavering love for his family, dedication to hard work, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he loved so deeply.
