Donald Craig Beckhorn, age 70, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Frank E. Beckhorn and Ada E. (Isetts) Beckhorn.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Springfield during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked for UPS before retiring. He later moved to Hollywood, Florida, where he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). In 2000, he relocated to Abingdon, Maryland, where he worked as a Punch Out Carpenter for Stephen Homes and later joined the Maintenance Department at Lorien Nursing Home, where he remained until his final retirement.
Donald is survived by his wife Rena (Platis) Beckhorn who was the love of his life for 25 years. He is survived by his brothers Bruce (Pam) Beckhorn, Randy Beckhorn, and sister-in-law Rita Beckhorn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ada Beckhorn, and his brother Richie Beckhorn. He is survived by many nieces and nephews,
A man of many talents, Donald loved helping others and had a special gift for fixing things. He was passionate about rescuing animals and spent much of his time caring for those in need. Donald found great joy in the Christmas holidays, cherishing time with family. He also enjoyed watching movies and listening to music.

Donald will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
