Dean Eric Cogar, age 61, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, in Bel Air, Maryland.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Dean was the beloved husband of Barbara Cogar, with whom he shared 39 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a loving family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Dean was the devoted father of Michael Cogar and Erin Listman and her husband Bill. He was the proud grandfather of Abby and Billy Listman, who brought great joy to his life.

He is also survived by his father, Michael and stepmother Cheryl Cogar; his sister, Juli Fico-Deeds as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Dean was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean (Bradshaw) Hoobler; and his beloved nieces, Krystle Camp and Brittney Ellis.

Dean had a passion for music, especially classic rock, and was an avid automobile enthusiast. He possessed an extraordinary knowledge of history, particularly military history, and was often affectionately described as a walking encyclopedia. His many interests, stories, and remarkable knowledge will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
