David Eugene Maloyed

David Eugene Maloyed, age 82, of Bastian, Virginia passed away on March 11, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. Born in Saltville, Virginia, he was the son of Margaret Maloyed and husband of 60 years to Helen (Kral) Maloyed. He retired from BG&E in 1994 after 25 years of service, where he worked as an installation and repairman in the gas division. In his earlier years, he had worked at Bata Shoe Company. He loved deer hunting and gardening.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughter, Tina Pollitt (husband, Jack Jr); sons, Donald Maloyed (wife, Michele), Ronnie Maloyed, and Randy Maloyed, Sr.; granddaughters, Kristina Maloyed, and Amanda Kraft; grandsons, Tyler Maloyed, Randy Maloyed, Jr., Bryan Maloyed, and Matthew Kraft; four great grandchildren; and brothers, Frank Maloyed, and Reece Maloyed.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his daughters-in-law, Tina Maloyed, and Kim Maloyed and brothers, Manuel Maloyed, and Jim Maloyed.
