Darren Wade Burk, age 53, of Nottingham, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Born in Towson, Maryland, he was the son of Robert George and Virginia Anne (Barker) Burk. Darren proudly served his country in the United States Air National Guard for eight years as a C-130 Loadmaster. He was deeply patriotic and honored to serve. For over 30 years, he worked as a CB Mechanic for W. R. Grace and Company, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Darren loved his family above all. He cherished his daughter, Emily, and held close relationships with his parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. Darren is survived by his daughter, Emily Burk; his parents, Virginia Burk and Robert Burk; his siblings, Kevin (Susan) Burk, Brian Burk, and Anne (Clay) Teagle; and his nieces and nephews, Savannah Teagle, Luke Teagle, Heidi Teagle, Julianne (Bryson) Saunders, and Michelle (Leo) Burk. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly Burk.
He had a special place in his heart for his loyal dogs, Buddy, a Basset Hound/Lab mix (Bassadore), and Missy (who predeceased him), a Shepherd/Chow mix, but both of whom he treated as part of the family. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially loved the ocean, being on the water, boating, fishing, golfing, and skiing. Darren was a passionate sports enthusiast, cheering for baseball, football, and hockey teams. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and the sense of freedom it brought.
Darren will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his generous spirit, love of family, and unwavering pride in his service to his country.
