Daniel A. Nevin, age 79, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Lutherville Timonium, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Leander Sherman Nevin and the late Marion Louise (Disney) Nevin.
Daniel was the beloved husband of Cynthia Lewis Nevin, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Kathleen (Salah) Khoury and Jennifer (Jonathan) Bosley, and a proud and loving grandfather to Megan Shea, Brady Shea, and Hannah Khoury, all of whom he adored deeply.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Daniel is survived by his brother, Sherman Nevin.
Daniel honorably served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He went on to serve his community with distinction as a K-9 Police Officer with the Baltimore City Police Department, retiring in 1992 after 22 years of dedicated service. Following his retirement, he worked for 10 years as a mail carrier at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He was also a member of American Legion Post #39 in Bel Air.
A man of many interests, Daniel was an avid golfer and found great joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known for his generous spirit and commitment to helping others, volunteering with Community Hospice of Maryland, where he was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2005.
Daniel’s life began with a remarkable story, as he was the first baby in Maryland to be saved after being born with RH factor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Counseling Center at Stella Maris or The International Dyslexia Association.
