Bel Air

Clifford Taylor, age 94, passed away on April 2, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was born in Haysi, Virginia, to the late William and Mary "Maggie" Taylor and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Iris Taylor.

Clifford's life was marked by a deep commitment to service, beginning with his time in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service, Clifford dedicated himself to a career as an Electronics Technician at APG, where he spent most of his life working in the Ballistic Research Lab. His passion for precision and innovation made a lasting impact on the field. During his free time, he enjoyed gardening, beekeeping, dancing, singing country music and especially playing his guitar.

Upon retiring at the age of 58, Clifford embraced his love for golfing and fishing, finding joy in the tranquility of nature. However, his retirement was far from idle; he became an active volunteer at Perry Point VA Medical Center, tirelessly raising funds for fellow veterans. His dedication extended to various veterans' organizations, including the VFW, DAV, and American Legion, where he was a cherished member.

Clifford's commitment to community service was also evident in his involvement with the Masonic Brotherhood, particularly at Aberdeen Md Post 187, where he was recently honored for an incredible 60 years of continuous service. His loyalty, integrity, and sense of duty were exemplary, inspiring all who knew him.

Clifford is survived by his son, C. Mark (Lisa) Taylor; daughters, Teresa Taylor-Woodward, and Shelly Russell; grandchildren, Allison (Chris) Ashcraft, Greg Woodward, Nick (Olivia) Woodward, Andrea Woodward, T.J. Russell, Taylor (Ryan) Neukam  great grandchildren, Blakely Neukam and Hadley Neukam and brother, Avery and wife Kay Taylor.

In addition to his wife, Clifford was preceded in death by his brothers Claude Taylor, Elmer Taylor, Carl Taylor, and Rayford Taylor, as well as sisters Beulah Compton, Violet Livingston, and Avis Rossier.
