Claude Rutherford

Claude Rutherford, age 80, of Street, MD, died on September 6, 2010 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born and raised on a farm in Jarrettsville, MD, he was one of 16 children of the late John Hiram and Bessie Mae Cook Rutherford, and had been married to the late Betty Wolfe Rutherford. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he retired from Edgewood Arsenal where he had worked in maintenance.

Mr. Rutherford is survived by his grandchildren, Danielle Shrodes and Sarah Rutherford; and his great-grandchild, Makayla Cooney. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his only daughter, Amy Rutherford, who died in June 2007, and his fifteen siblings.
