Claire Frances Romano, age 95, of Parkville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Claire was the beloved daughter of the late George Christian Kiesewetter and Frances Cecelia (Sheer) Saunders. She was the devoted wife of the late Harold M. Romano and loving mother of the late Richard Romano.
Claire worked for Bell Atlantic as a clerk for many years in New Jersey. She was a talented and creative woman who enjoyed woodworking and proudly assisted in making a replica of Memorial Stadium. Claire was also very artistic and had a deep love for gardening. She enjoyed playing bocce ball and was instrumental in starting the hearing support group at Oak Crest Village, where she had been a resident for the past 13 years.
She is survived by her loving family members: Cathleen Basdekis and her husband John, Christopher Romano and his wife Susan, Donald Romano and his wife Diana, Diane Renner and her husband Ralph, and Patricia Roberts and her husband John, and many great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society,
organizations supporting Macular Degeneration research https://www.macular.org/
the Oak Crest Village Scholarship Fund or the Oak Crest Village Benevolent Fund.
