Christina Alden "Tina" Cox (Freese)

On May 4, 2024, our hearts were touched by the peaceful passing of Christina Alden (nee Freese) Cox. Christina was not only the cherished wife of Gary W. Cox for 53 beautiful years but also the loving and devoted mother of Gretchen Yingling. She held a special place in her heart for her grandson, Dalton Yingling, whom she adored dearly.
 
Christina was surrounded by love in her family, being the dear sister of David Freese and his wife Ginny, and his former wife Sandy, as well as John Freese and his wife Lynn, and Nancy Sheridan and her husband Jack. She embraced her role as aunt with warmth and affection, leaving behind numerous loving nieces, nephews, and many dear friends who felt her kindness deeply.
 
 For over 30 years, Christina served as a registered nurse, dedicating herself to the care and well-being of others. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of countless individuals in need. Beyond her professional life, Christina was an artist of great talent, finding joy in the strokes of pastels and oils. Her love for animals was profound, and she was a fierce advocate for their welfare.
 
 For those who wish to pay tribute to Christina's memory, memorial contributions may be made to The CRIC - Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort Study with the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (www.repository.niddk.nih.gov/studies/cric/) . This organization held a special place in Christina's heart, providing support during her struggle with renal failure and offering hope through participation in their studies.
 
 In Christina, we have lost not only a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, but also a beacon of light whose kindness and generosity will continue to inspire us all. May her spirit find peace, and may her memory live on in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, at 12:00 PM at McComas Celebration of Life Center, 1114 Baldwin Mill Rd, Jarrettsville, MD 21084.  Lunch will follow the service.
