Charlotte D. Smith

August 21, 1933 — May 6, 2025

Fallston

Charlotte Dana Smith, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully from natural causes on May 6, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on August 21, 1933, in Dublin, MD, she was a lifelong resident of Maryland, most recently residing in Fallston.

Charlotte dedicated her professional life to the banking industry, where she served as Second Vice President, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues throughout her career. Her work ethic and commitment to her profession were only surpassed by her devotion to her family and community. She retired from Equitable Trust and York Federal of Bel Air and Forest Hill. Charlotte enjoyed bowling, socializing, and driving around to local places.

Charlotte is survived by her adoring daughter, Patricia Jones and her amazing husband of 51 years James Jones, and her cherished grandchildren: James Jones, Jr., Patrick Jones, Dana Marynowski, and Katherine Bisker. In addition, she was a proud great-grandmother to Luke and Owen Marynowski; Emma, Juliette, and Sawyer Bisker; Reid and Reagan Jones; Ethan and Carter Jones; and Bailey and Alexis Reeves. Her family was her greatest joy, and her legacy will live on through each of them.

A visitation will be held in her honor at McComas Family Funeral Homes in Abingdon on May 31, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 12PM, celebrating Charlotte's remarkable life and spirit. She will be laid to rest at a burial service at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.

Charlotte Dana Smith will be profoundly missed, but her love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

In addition to her parents William and Mary Smith and husband James Smith, Charlotte was preceded in death by brothers Walter Smith, and Don and Paul Weaver and sisters Maude Thomas, Opal Birkmire, Notrie Jordan, Geneva Nagle, and Beulah Webster.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to The Kaufman Cancer Center, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or the Kidney Foundation of Maryland, honoring Charlotte's compassionate spirit and her passion for helping others.
