Catherine Marie Pohero, age 56, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Catherine was the loving daughter of the late Catherine (Gavigan) Devane and the late Michael Devane. She was a proud Irish American who cherished her heritage and embraced its traditions with joy — especially St. Patrick’s Day, complete with corned beef, cabbage, and laughter.
Catherine is survived by her devoted husband of 29 beautiful years, Wayne Eric Pohero, and their children: Nicholas Pohero, Alexander Pohero and his wife Abrianna Meeks, Matthew Wishoet Jr., and Zemira Wishoet.
A dedicated nurse by profession, Catherine lived a life of compassion and service, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and patients will be her enduring legacy. She truly believed in making the world a better place, and she lived that belief every day.
Catherine was more than just a caregiver—she was the heart and soul of her family. She was a nurturing, loving mother and wife who always provided strength, wisdom, and a warm, supportive presence. Her family was her world, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them. Whether it was crafting, drawing, coloring, or completing cryptograms with her children, she treasured every shared laugh and memory.
She also loved bowling, brain games, and expressing her artistic spirit. Her sharp wit, snarky sense of humor, and positive outlook made her a joy to be around. Catherine was known for her insightful advice, comforting shoulder, and optimistic view of life. She loved animals deeply and cared for her beloved cats and dogs as cherished members of the family.
Catherine's beautiful voice filled many rooms with song, and her presence brought joy to everyone around her. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, sense of humor, and above all, her love.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
