Byren Zion Paige, age 17, of Edgewood, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, in Towson, Maryland.

Byren was the beloved son of Tyra Viola Lashawn Williams and Devon May.

Byren was a bright light to everyone who knew him. Full of personality, he was known for his colorful spirit, goofy sense of humor, and the ability to make friends wherever he went. He loved his friends as though they were brothers and sisters, and his popularity was a reflection of the kindness and genuine care he showed to others. He also embraced the nickname from his father figure, carrying it with pride as a tribute to the impact that person had on his life.

A talented and determined young man, Byren had a passion for barbering. He loved cutting hair for everyone he could, whether at home, at school, or anywhere he had the opportunity to practice and perfect his skills. Music was another of his greatest passions, and he enjoyed writing lyrics for rap songs as a creative outlet.

Byren loved sports and was happiest on the basketball court with his friends. He also proudly played football for Edgewood High School. His favorite colors to wear were blue and black, and sometimes all black.

Above all, Byren treasured his family and friends. His vibrant personality, generous heart, infectious laughter, and unforgettable presence will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

In addition to his parents, Byren is survived by his siblings, Nevaeh Paige, Bobby Paige (a.k.a. Butt Butt), Morgan Johnson, Breon Paige, Bryson Paige, and De'yon May; his grandparents, Karen Henry and Lewis Henry; his aunts, Siani Williams and Geraldine Williams; his uncles, Ingram Williams and Marcus Wilkes; his cousins, Kye'ahle Armstead, Corie Williams, Donielle Mack, and Donel Mack; and countless friends who became family and will cherish his memory forever.

Byren’s sudden passing after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 695 has left his family heartbroken and facing unexpected funeral expenses. Without life insurance, the financial burden is especially difficult.

In Byren’s memory, please consider donating to The Brandon Tolson Foundation – Like-Hearted Funding. Your support will help with funeral arrangements, church services, and preparing Byren for his final farewell.

“Nothing more, nothing less—we simply want to give Byren the farewell he deserves.”

Any contribution, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.

The family has chosen Psalm 91 as a source of comfort and hope.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,

my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you

from the fowler’s snare

and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with his feathers,

and under his wings you will find refuge;

his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

You will not fear the terror of night,

nor the arrow that flies by day,

nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,

nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side,

ten thousand at your right hand,

but it will not come near you.

You will only observe with your eyes

and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”

and you make the Most High your dwelling,

no harm will overtake you,

no disaster will come near your tent.

For he will command his angels concerning you

to guard you in all your ways;

they will lift you up in their hands,

so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

You will tread on the lion and the cobra;

you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;

I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

He will call on me, and I will answer him;

I will be with him in trouble,

I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life I will satisfy him

and show him my salvation.”
