Brian Joseph Klein, age 53, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of John F. Klein, Jr. and the late Judith Anne (Deckelman) Lloyd.

Brian was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, often described as a natural comedian who could make anyone laugh. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his son, Levi, who meant the world to him. Brian worked for many years throughout Harford County as a bartender and waiter, forming lasting connections with those he served and worked alongside. He also spent several years living in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, an experience he held close to his heart.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including landscaping for himself and his family, and had a deep love for animals. His dogs, Tank and Diesel, brought him endless happiness and companionship. Brian also had a special bond with nature, once raising a baby squirrel he affectionately named “Earl,” whom he later released back into the wild.

He is survived by his beloved son, Levi Klein; his father, John (Frances) Klein, Jr.; his sister, Marcia (Michael) Perry; his brother, John Klein, III; his companion, Kelly Mersinger; Evalyn, Jon, Eden, and Castiel, to whom he was a father figure; and several loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Brian’s memory to the Humane Society of Harford County.
