Edgewood

Brenda Jane (Wyatt) Harris, age 74, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on August 13, 2023 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Middlesboro, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Lena (Beason) Wyatt and loving wife of Amos Harris, who she shared 55 years of marriage with. Brenda was a foster mom for over 20 years after her own kids were grown. She dedicated her life and her heart to so many children. She was a very special and loving person, who always put others first. Her family will dearly miss her humor and outgoing personality. She cherished any time she got to spend with her sister and family. The weekend before her passing Brenda would be heard saying, "Growing up we had no money, but I never realized through it all, we were rich"!

In addition to her husband, Brenda is survived by her sons, William (Teresa) Harris and Michael (fiancé Melissa Larson) Harris; daughter, Lena (Douglas) Mills; grandchildren, Jessica Crawford, Matthew Harris, Julia Harris, Jared Harris, Kirsten Harris, Riley Harris, Daniel Wyatt Creek, Lauren Creek; great-grandson, Carter Harris; sister, Kathy Black of Cumberland Gap, TN; brother, Woody (Althea) Wyatt of Middlesboro, KY; great-nephew, Michael Jones; and one great-granddaughter, Ariella Creek, who is on the way, lovingly referred to by Brenda as "Baby Gertrude". Brenda also leaves behind Barbara Donithan, who was like a daughter to her, and her best friend, Susan Sterchic, of close to 30 years. Brenda and Susan shared a special connection and bond.  Additionally, Brenda is survived by many loved foster children including her foster daughter of ten years, Jessica Hall, who came to visit her twice while she was in the hospital. Jessica says she's the person she is today because of Brenda. Lastly, Brenda leaves behind her dear cat, Tiger.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by brother, Harrison “Harry” Wyatt; brother-in-law, Kenneth Black; nieces, Karen and Melanie Black; and her Aunt Berthy.
