Bonnie Lee Pettebone (DuVall), born on June 27, 1952, in Baltimore, MD, passed away on April 28, 2025, at Oakcrest Assisted Living in Parkville, MD, after a four-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was the beloved daughter of Barbara and W. Douglas Duvall.
Bonnie graduated from Severna Park High School in 1970, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Towson University in 1974, and later completed her Master of Science degree and post graduate work in Education. She then began a long and fruitful career as a middle school science teacher. During her teaching tenure of more than 40 years, she touched the lives of many of her students. Her dedication to science education and her long-standing commitment to students have left a lasting impact on the communities she served.
Bonnie was married to her soul mate, John Pettebone (deceased February 18, 2020), for 43 wonderful years. During their time together they relocated several times, for John’s job, and lived in Texas, California, Illinois, and Maryland. Both Bonnie and John were avid animal lovers and provided a loving home for many dogs and cats during their time on this earth. Bonnie had a passion for creating unique jewelry and was the co-owner of a small business, BOJO Handcrafted Solutions.
Bonnie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and is survived by her sister, Lynn Campbell (Duvall), brother-in-law, Richard Campbell and nephew, Jamie Campbell. She was preceded in death by her father, W. Douglass DuVall, Mother Barbara Marie DuVall, her sister-in law, Kathy Long (Pettebone), and her brother-in-law, Gene Long. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
