Betty R. Mahaffey, age 91, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Cass, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Luther Lee McLaughlin and the late Monta Lee McLaughlin.

Betty was the beloved wife of the late Alpha D. Mahaffey, with whom she shared many devoted years of marriage.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph McLaughlin and Garland McLaughlin; and her sister, Leta Helmick.

She is lovingly survived by her children: David (Helen) Mahaffey, Margaret Tumolo, and Nancy Pence. She was a proud grandmother to Kristy Anderson, Alisha Caruso, and Katie Ryan, and a cherished great-grandmother to Danica Anderson, Kinsley Ryan, and Lilliana Ryan.

Betty retired in 1980 from Wilson Enterprises, where she faithfully worked as a bookkeeper for 40 years. She was a devoted member of Freedom Church. Betty enjoyed reading her Bible, spending time with her grandchildren, and cherishing moments with her family. She was also known as a wonderful cook who lovingly prepared meals for those she cared about.

She will be remembered for her strong faith, dedication to her family, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.
