Betty Jane Foard, 95, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026, in Bel Air, MD.

Born in Elkton, MD, Betty was the daughter of the late Pearl (Puckett) Holloway and Chester Preston Holloway Sr. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Faidley Foard Sr.

She was a proud graduate of Jarrettsville High School and Towson State Teachers College, earning a degree in teaching. Betty lived a full and creative life, filled with many passions. In her younger years, she loved gardening and took great pride in her work. She was a very talented artist who especially enjoyed sketching, and her creativity was evident in all she did. Betty was an avid reader and a devoted member of the Jarrettsville Book Club. She also shared her musical talents as a pianist, occasionally playing for her church. Faith was an important part of her life, and she was an active member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. One of Betty’s biggest passions was looking out for those in need. She was always visiting shut-ins and praying for anyone who was having a difficult time. She was very selfless.

She is survived by her loving family: her sons, Richard Foard and his wife Roberta and Gary Foard and his wife Jennie; her grandchildren, Harry Foard and his wife Hui, Megan Foard Schwartz and her husband Joseph, Samuel Foard and his wife Caroline, Megan Sprenkle, and Michael Foard; her great-grandchildren, Rochelle Schwartz, Jenna Sprenkle, and James Fare; and her brother, Chester Holloway Jr.
