Bettie (Edna) May Rigsby

Bettie (Edna) May Rigsby, age 79, of Joppa, MD died on May 9, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE. Born in Joppa, MD she was the daughter of the late William Carroll and Anna Augusta Benser Ryan. She had worked as a food service worker for the Army, Air Force Exchange Services and loved her family, gardening and baking.

Mrs. Rigsby is survived by her husband of 56 years, William H. Rigsby Sr. of Joppa, MD; son Ronald W. Smith, and his wife, Mary, of Joppa, MD; brothers, W. Carroll Ryan of Bel Air, MD, Edgar Ryan of Abingdon, MD and Donald Ryan of Bel Air, MD; sister, Helen Ryan of Abingdon, MD; daughter-in-law, Carol Rigsby of Bel Air, MD; and granddaughter, Jennifer Anne Coleman, and her husband Mark, of Elkton, MD. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, William H. Rigsby Jr.
