Bette L. Richards

Bette L. Richards, 91, of Abingdon, MD, formerly of Pine City, NY, passed away peacefully on July 7 surrounded by loved ones. Born in Nanticoke, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Jenkin Thomas and Susan Mae (Crawford) Thomas and wife of the late D. Harry Richards Jr. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed activities with her family. She was a member of North Presbyterian Church in Elmira, NY.

Mrs. Richards is survived by her daughter, Shirley Hungerford of White Post, VA and daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Michael Sommer of Abingdon, MD; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son; David H. Richards III; brothers, Ivor, Jenkin, William, Eugene and James Thomas; sister, Anne Williams; sisters-in-law, Ruth Thomas, Melba Williams and Shirley Vacca; and grandson, David Sommer.
