Bessie "Nancy" Haga

Bessie "Nancy" Olinger Haga, age 106, of Easton, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Born in Virginia, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late George Washington Olinger and the late Gracie Glenn (Orr) Olinger. She was the devoted wife of the late Colonel Vance Haga, Sr.

Nancy was a remarkable woman whose life was centered on her Christian faith, her family, and serving others. A faithful Christian, she read her Bible daily and faithfully prayed for those she loved. Her unwavering faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.

She found great joy in quilting, reading, and gardening, and treasured every opportunity to spend time with her family and friends. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and steadfast devotion to those she loved left a lasting impression on generations of family members and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Colonel Vance Haga, Sr.; her parents, George Washington Olinger and Gracie Glenn Olinger; her brothers, George "Sammy" Olinger, Jr. , Carson Olinger, and William Olinger; and her sisters, Doris Beech, Irene Pope, Louise Stokesbury, Polly Morris, Ruby Whitely, and Peggy Olinger.

She is lovingly survived by her son, C. Vance ("Vance") Haga, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen; her daughter, Rebecca ("Joan") Evans and her husband, Jim; her grandchildren, Barbara, Kelly, Jeffrey, Joel, Nathan, Rachel, Matthew, and Michael; eighteen cherished great-grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren and two on the way; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
