Bernard F. Connell, Sr.

Bernard F. Connell, Sr., 84, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away on August 29, 2024. Born in Sparrows Point, Maryland, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Emma (Fischer) Connell and the youngest of four children.

Bernard was a man of many passions and simple pleasures. He had a lifelong love of flying model airplanes, a fascination with cars, and an appreciation for the joys of fried chicken paired with a cold beer. He found happiness in the little things — whether it was fishing by a quiet stream, shooting pool with friends, feeding the deer that visited his yard, or simply mowing his lawn with meticulous care. He was fond of drag racing and spent many afternoons engaged in solitary card games, a pastime that brought him comfort and peace.

Bernard's love for life was evident in his every action, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and will be remembered fondly by his family and friends.

Bernard is survived by his sons, Bernard Connell Jr and Walter William Connell; daughter, Nancy Kathrine Yates; niece, Shelly Dixon; nephew, James Jr.; granddaughters, Jessica Volz, Elise Airey, Sara Renae Connell, Micayla Autumn Connell, Megan Yates, Brianna Yates Miller; and 6 great-grandchildren.
