Bernard (Bernie) Everett Gemmill

Bernard (Bernie) Everett Gemmill, age 73, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Born in Baltimore, Bernie was the beloved son of the late Doris (Deigert) Gemmill and James Everett Gemmill. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 41 years, Connie Joan Gemmill, as well as his brother, Gary Gemmill.

Bernie was a loving and proud father to Patrick Gemmill and his wife Kelly, and to Michael Gemmill. He was a cherished grandfather to Neil Gemmill, Abigail Gemmill, and Joan Gemmill. He is also survived by his brothers Allen Gemmill and Kenny Gemmill.

Bernie was a man full of energy and joy, known for his passion for running—having competed in over a thousand races and several marathons throughout his life. He shared a deep love for camping with his late wife Connie, and together they created countless cherished memories in the great outdoors. Bernie also found great joy in attending musical concerts, with a particular fondness for 3 Dog Night. One of his favorite places to visit was Hershey Park, and he held a special affection for buffalo, his favorite animal.
