Barbara Ann Shue

July 26, 1935 — July 23, 2025

Barbara Ann Shue (Gerdom), age 89, of Churchville, Maryland, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025—just three days shy of her 90th birthday. Barbara was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, on July 26, 1935, and was the beloved daughter of the late Earnest Gregory Gerdom and Muriel (Thompson) Gerdom.

Barbara was reunited in heaven with her loving husband of 42 years, Lloyd H. Shue Jr.; her dear brother, Earnest Gerdom; and great-granddaughter, Mikayla Cordon.

Barbara’s legacy of love lives on through her four children: Lloyd H. Shue III and wife Lisa of Churchville, MD; Keith A. Shue and wife Eva of Port Deposit, MD; Cynthia A. Norris and husband Roy of Joppa, MD; and Debra L. Gagnon and husband David of Adrian, MI. She also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren who brought her endless joy and pride: Kelly (Christian) Terrones, Kristin (Cristobal) Cordon, Derek Gagnon, Alexandra (Jeremy) Greek, Rachel Shue, Lloyd Shue IV, and Catherine Shue. Her family also includes six beautiful great-grandchildren—Enzo, Christian, Joaquin, Cruz, Roman, and Sofia—as well as her sisters, Joyce Blake and Muriel Greenland.

Barbara was a remarkable woman—an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was full of energy, warmth, and wisdom, with a spirit that touched the lives of everyone she met. Athletic and vibrant in her youth, she carried that same determination and zest for life into her later years. She adored her grandchildren and took great joy in spending time with them.

Her passions included bowling, painting, sightseeing, birdwatching, and playing cards with friends and family. Barbara also dedicated many years to teaching Sunday School at Mt. Zion Methodist Church—a role she held close to her heart and one that impacted countless young lives.

Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Yet, we rejoice in the comfort of knowing she is now at peace, and we hold tightly to the blessed hope that we will see her again. Her family firmly believes her life has now truly begun!

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s honor to the Sunday School Department at Mt. Zion Church, 1643 Churchville Rd, Bel Air, MD 21015.
