Barbara Kohn Miller, age 84, of Maryland, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, in Aberdeen, Maryland. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Paul Alvin Kohn and Myrtle (Jones) Kohn.

Barbara shared 48 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Mark W. Miller. She took great pride in her family and treasured celebrating every event and special occasion with those she loved. Her grandchildren held an especially dear place in her heart and brought her immense joy throughout her life.

Barbara had a special love for children and found great joy in teaching preschool. She devoted more than 20 years to working at Learning Tree Daycare Center, where she enjoyed helping young children learn, grow, and discover the world around them.

Barbara was a member of Liberty Grove United Methodist Church in Burtonsville, Maryland, as well as Bel Air United Methodist Church. Music was also an important part of her church life, and she enjoyed playing handbells at her previous church.

She loved spending time with friends, especially playing cards and enjoying fun times at the beach in Avalon. Barbara also cherished her close group of friends in Hanover, Pennsylvania, with whom she made many wonderful memories over the years.

A die-hard sports fan, Barbara enthusiastically supported many different sports teams and enjoyed following her favorites. Above all, however, her greatest happiness came from her family, her grandchildren, and the many friendships she cultivated throughout her life.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Mark W. Miller; son, Timothy Funk and his wife, Nicole; daughters, Traci Mason, Kristin McNelis and her husband, Kieron, and Arden Ippolito and her husband, Carl; grandchildren, Matthew Funk, Kaitlyn Funk, Rory McNelis, Brayden McNelis, Edward McNelis, Shamika Slater, Bryan Slater, Anthony Slater, and Derrick Slater.

In addition to her parents, Paul Alvin Kohn and Myrtle (Jones) Kohn, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Donald Kohn.
