Barbara Lee Hastmann

Barbara Lee Hastmann, age 80, of Edgewood, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Doris Marie (Gardner) Green, and the beloved wife of the late Johnnie Ernest Hastmann.

Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister whose family meant everything to her. She was a home daycare provider for many years and later worked as a chef at KinderCare for over 20 years. Barbara had a warm and generous spirit, and her love of family shone through in everything she did. She especially cherished the holidays, with Christmas being her favorite time of year.

She enjoyed camping with her husband, tending to her flower garden, and watching butterflies. Barbara was also very crafty and had a passion for cooking and baking—she delighted in making her own holiday candies for her children and sharing her creations with those she loved.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Brian Hastmann and Eric (Danielle) Hastmann; grandchildren, Arlen (Lindsay) Hastmann, Taylor Hastmann, and Jeremy Hastmann; step-grandchildren, Brianna (Brandon) Beres, Alexis Poling and her partner Charles Burkhardt; great grandchildren Charlotte Beres, Karissa Burkhardt and sister, Janice Green.
