Barbara Catherine Guinther

January 26, 1941 — July 7, 2025

Barbara Catherine Guinther, 84, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2025. Born in Pennsylvania, Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late Wilfred Arnold and Arlene (Eurich) Arnold.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Kenneth Wayne Guinther and her son, Anthony Guinther.

Barbara is survived by her loving daughters, Lesa Bereznay and her husband Thomas, and Grace Fortunato and her husband Philippe. She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren, as well as five cherished great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear sister, Anna Groft.

A woman of faith, heart, and boundless energy, Barbara was deeply involved in her church community at Dublin United Methodist Church, participating actively in the women’s group, and contributing regularly to efforts supporting those in need, including cooking for the homeless. She led a prayer group and lived her faith through both word and action.

Barbara dedicated her life to caring for others, a passion that extended through her long and meaningful career as a nurse and throughout her personal life as a caregiver to many. She found great joy in spending time with her family, her grandchildren, and even her grand dogs.

An exceptionally talented quilter and proficient sewer, Barbara was especially proud of making thousands of masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her creativity and generosity were unmatched. She loved celebrating the holidays, baking cookies at Christmas, and preparing eggs at Easter—traditions she carried on faithfully. Barbara also enjoyed watching birds and squirrels in her yard and always kept herself busy with meaningful work and joyful hobbies.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her church Dublin United Methodist Church. https://www.dublinumc.com/

Barbara's strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
