Barbara "Sax" Gene Bradley

Barbara Gene Bradley, age 90, of Edgewood, MD, graduated to heaven on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

Born in Fruitland, MD, Barbara was the daughter of the late Spang Saxon and Alice B. (Hudson) Saxon. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald Leroy Bradley Sr., with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters Frankie Ramsey and Betty Collins, and her brother William “Billy” Saxon. She is survived by her children,Linda McClease, Regina Bradley, and Ronald L Bradley Jr.(Jayme) With nieces Vanessa Ramsey, Dorthea Dashields Nephews, Terry Ramsey, Craig Ramsey, Wayne Gilreath,and Lester Newberry she also leaves behind her cherished “fur grandbabies” — Fozzie, Nellie, Ruth, Clara Bow, Whiskey, Sunny, and Supreme Fluffy.

Known to many as” Sax” and lovingly as Bobbie to most, grew up on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, in Fruitland. Where she attended grade school and graduated from Salisbury High School. She attended Morgan State University in Baltimore, where she met the love of life Ronald Bradley.

Barbara was a talented baker who loved decorating cakes, which she took to chapel on Sunday while Ronald was stationed in Germany.

She and her husband provided a foster home for special needs children in Texas, and opened her home in Maryland to provide day care for single working mothers. An experience they deeply enjoyed. An avid bowler, she spent many happy years on a league at Fairlanes in Edgewood.

For over thirty years she faithfully cleaned the Law offices of Stark and Kenan before retiring at the age of 80. She loved doing her word search puzzle books and writing in her journal. Two of her favorite things were going to the Casino and playing the Lottery. Barbara loved the Ravens and the Orioles.

She also cherished her family’s annual crab feast,and birthday celebration.

She was known for her quick wit and unfiltered speech, you never knew what she would say next.

Barbara’s memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends and the many lives she touched with her generosity, strength ,and her joyful spirit. She was the Epitome of Proverbs 31:10-31 NIV - Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

Barbara was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
