It is with great sadness and joy with the passing of Barbara Kilby Anders of Bel Air, MD on Sunday, August 17, 2025, to her Heavenly home with our Lord!
Born on a farm in Spenceola in Harford Co., she was the daughter of the late Delmas Jennings Kilby and Selma Clyde (Edwards) Kilby. She was the beloved wife of the late Wilbur J. Anders.
Barbara was a very humble Christian woman and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved life and cherished her family deeply. For over 30 years, she was a dedicated school bus driver in Harford County before retiring from Corbin Buses. Following retirement, Barbara and Wilbur enjoyed 19 wonderful years in Florida before returning to Maryland to live with their daughter.
Barbara had a passion for gardening and loved fishing in Chincoteague, where she and Wilbur spent many weekends and weeks together. Her faith was central to her life—she was actively involved in every church she attended, including Trappe Baptist and Trinity Freewill Baptist in Maryland, Elwood Baptist in Florida, and most recently, Bel Forest Baptist Church. She was the kind of person her family could always turn to for guidance, comfort, and love.
In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie Kilby, Danny Kilby, and Harold Kilby; and sister, Kathleen Cox.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lehr; son, Michael “Moon” (Carin) Anders; grandchildren, Melissa Millroy, Kim Freeland (Step); and Michael A. Anders ; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchilden; brother, Vonley Kilby; sister, Iva Jean Boylan; niece, Kathleen Kilby; and nephew, Larry Kilby—whom she thought of as her own as well as many nieces and nephews.
