Arvadella "Arvy" Jane Cornell

Arvadella "Arvy" Jane Cornell, Age 87, of Parkville, MD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Born in Richford, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late George and Hazel Draper. She was the beloved wife of the late Ditmar “Dick” Cornell, with whom she shared a loving marriage until his passing more than 40 years ago. Arvy was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Cornell, and her four siblings, as well as her parents.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Leeann Cornell.

Arvy was the youngest of five siblings and grew up in Vermont and Long Island, raised alongside her older sister and grandmother. She was a fantastic mom, deeply devoted to her children, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening, reading, taking day trips, traveling, and attending church. A lifelong animal lover, she cared deeply for her cats, dogs, rabbits, and really any other animal that she could help.

Family and friends are invited to honor her life at a later date. Interment will be private.
