Anna “Susie” Virginia Wagner, age 91, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2026. She was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, to the late Charles Nugene Melton and Margaret Ethel (Thompson) Melton.

Anna was the beloved wife of the late Morris Willard Wagner, with whom she shared more than 50 years of marriage. She was a happy-go-lucky woman whose warm smile could light up a room. A sweetheart cherished by all, Susie was a wonderful mother and grandmother who brought joy and love to everyone around her.

Anna had a deep love for animals, plants, and flowers and especially enjoyed gardening. She was also a talented painter and had a great appreciation for music. She was a devoted member of Wilna Seventh-day Adventist Church, which held a special place in her heart. Those who knew Susie will fondly remember her loving spirit—and, of course, the best brownies!

In addition to her husband, Anna was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary McMillian and Nellie Atwell.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Ruth (William) Carter; her son, Morris Wagner; her grandchildren, James (Morgan) Stallings, Jessie (Dawna) Layfield, Robert (Tarrin) Carter, and Jennifer (Derrick) Wisner; and her six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Landon, Kaylin, Lexi, Madison, and Reese. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
