Obituary

Andrew “Andy” Joseph Stritch, Sr., 83, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Lutherville Timonium, Maryland.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Andy was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Stritch and Angela (Diblasi) Stritch. He was the beloved husband of Cathy K. Stritch, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.

Andy dedicated 45 years of service to the Maryland State Department of Corrections, retiring in 2009. Following his retirement, he enjoyed sharing his love of history by leading walking tours of Baltimore City. Andy had a passion for volunteering and education. He was a dedicated volunteer at Fort McHenry, where he participated in historical re-enactments, and he frequently visited Norrisville Elementary School to give presentations about the 15-star American flag. He also volunteered as a Rocket Reader at Hillcrest Elementary School, where he especially enjoyed working with children. Andy truly loved kids and valued every opportunity to encourage and inspire them.

Faith was an important part of Andy’s life. He was a member of the Choir at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen and previously sang with the choir at St. Pius X.

In addition to his wife, Andy is survived by his loving children, Kimberley (Clinine) Mills, Jennifer (Todd) Sexton, Elizabeth (Michael) Martir, and Andrew (Kerry) Stritch, Jr.; his cherished grandchildren, Grace Sexton, Eric Martir, Taylor Mills, Benjamin Sexton, Michael Martir, Lucas Sexton, Kevin Mills, Brian Mills, Rowan Stritch, William Stritch, and Declan Stritch; and his great-grandchild, Theo Butler.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Andrew’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
