Amy Jacobsen

March 1, 1959 — June 1, 2022

Amy Christine Jacobsen of Bel Air, MD was called to her heavenly home on June 1, 2022. She was 63 years old. Born on March 1, 1959, she was raised in the Brooklyn area of Baltimore with her brother and five sisters. She had fond memories of those days and enjoyed sharing stories with members of various Facebook groups created to reminisce about the Brooklyn Community.

Amy graduated from Southern High School in 1977 and moved the following year to Bel Air, MD with her parents. Amy loved working, starting at Gino's in Brooklyn Park when she was just 16 years old. She worked for many years at the Woolworths in Harford Mall and then Harford Mutual in the town of Bel Air. In later years, she was employed by Ulla Popken in Glen Arm. Amy enjoyed taking classes at Harford Community College and she was also an Avon Representative.

Her main passion was genealogy. Amy tirelessly researched and discovered many of our ancestors and their connections to one another. She documented these findings in large well-organized binders that will benefit many future generations to come.

Amy is predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Sue Jacobsen. She is survived by her five sisters, Barbara Pine (Keef), Susan Jacobs (Ronald), Julia McHale, Jennifer Bolton (Jeff), and Nancy Hoch (Michael); and her brother Robert Jacobsen and his wife Teresa. Amy was the proud Godmother of her niece Bridget Alanna Doyle. Amy will be lovingly remembered by all 14 of her nieces and nephews, 7 great-nieces and nephews, and also her many cousins.

Amy enjoyed her annual Ocean City vacations at Plim Plaza on the boardwalk. Her many hobbies were painting, crocheting, playing games on Facebook till the wee hours of the morning and creating personal greeting cards on her computer. Her favorite day of the year was Halloween when she eagerly awaited all the little children in their costumes. There was probably no other house where they were fussed over like they were with Amy. Amy will be missed by her phone buddy Suzanne, who lives in Florida. They spent many long hours chit chatting.

Amy appreciated the care and support she received from the staff at Alice Manor: Bracha, Leslie, Vanessa, Mary and Bracha.

Amy's family would like to say we will miss her gentle, childlike spirit. She was tenderhearted, kind and generous. There was never a baby she didn't want to be the first one to hold. She had a soft spot for animals.
