Ameriless “Chris” Mayo, age 89, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, in Havre de Grace, MD.
Born in Durant, Oklahoma, Chris was the daughter of the late Weldon E. Patillo and the late Frankie (Maupin) Patillo.
Chris shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Ronald Eugene Mayo. After beginning her career in the hairstyling business at the young age of 13 in Oklahoma, she went on to own and operate “The Hair Affair” on Bel Air Avenue in Aberdeen for more than 40 years. Following her retirement from salon ownership, she continued serving others as a hairdresser with Hart to Heart.
She was an original member of Soroptimist International of Havre de Grace and remained actively involved with the organization for over 40 years. Chris also attended Grace United Methodist Church in Aberdeen for many years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed tournament bowling and participated in a lady’s bowling league, traveling across the country for competitions. She was also a proud member of the Bel Air Corvette Club for more than 20 years.
In addition to her parents, Chris was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Alan Mayo.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Amy Mayo; nephew, Aaron Mayo and his wife, Sarah; and niece, Ashley Mayo, and great nieces Hannah and Eliza Mayo.
