Bel Air

Alma E. "Betty" Kennedy, age 85, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on May 6, 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the cherished daughter of the late Samuel and Helen Bromwell, and the devoted wife of the late Edward J. Kennedy, III.

Alma dedicated nearly six decades of her life to Kennedy Insurance Agency, where she worked alongside her beloved husband until his passing in 2019. A longtime resident of Harford County, she was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church – Hickory. Alma's faith was the guidance of her grace and compassion.

In her leisure time, Alma found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was the camaraderie of bowling leagues, the excitement of card games, or the tranquility of a good book, she embraced each moment with enthusiasm and warmth. Alma delighted in the beauty of nature, often spending leisurely days on the beach or camping beneath the stars. Above all, she cherished the company of her family and friends, sharing laughter and creating cherished memories over countless dinners and gatherings.

Alma leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be forever cherished by her daughters: Kimberly Kennedy Vaughn (James W.), Elizabeth Kennedy Yoakum (Edward D.), K. Kelly Kennedy-Bollinger (Leonard W.), Barbara Kennedy-Kosick (Keith), and Karen J. Kennedy-Butler (Brett M.). She was the adored grandmother of 12 grandchildren and the proud great-grandmother of two. Alma is also survived by her dear brother, Frederick Bromwell, his wife Joyce, and her aunt, Alice Price.
