It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Alice E Hardy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Alice was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Minnie and Raymond Harris. She married her husband Norman and traveled overseas with her first 3 children before settling in Edgewood Maryland and having her last child. She was called to rest on Sunday October 26, 2025.
Alice is survived by her beloved husband, Norman Hardy, Sr., her loving children: Norman Hardy Jr., David Hardy, Christina Hardy, and Sonya Morgan (John Morgan). She was a proud grandmother to Lashar Williams, Lamisha Putney, Laushaunda Martin, Robert Hardy, Trevor Lilley, Jason Hardy, Dominique Hardy, Danielle Green, Jordan Hardy, Desiree Hardy, Demi Hardy-Pabon, Tyree Sample, Collin Sample, Jackson Morgan, and Harper Morgan. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her loving siblings: Lois, Janice, Donna, Phyllis Diane, Allen, Patricia, and Geraldine.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her sister Rayenell and brother Leon.
Family was Alice’s world and her greatest joy. She was a loving and devoted wife to Norman Hardy for 64 years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who were lucky enough to know her. Alice was known for her nurturing spirit, generosity, kindness, and strength. As the true matriarch of her family, her home was always open—a place of warmth, comfort, and love where anyone could come when in need of her care and wisdom.
Alice was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Stars and found great fulfillment in her charitable work with the organization. She spent countless hours creating and organizing kits and bundles of necessities for those in need. Beyond her charitable pursuits, she loved the ocean and had a deep passion for travel and adventure.
Alice’s love, strength, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The Hardy Family would like to extend their deepest appreciation, the comforting messages, prayers, flowers and other expressions of kindness and concern.
