Al Hartman, 78, of Abingdon, MD, passed away on May 23, 2015 at his home. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Nicholas Hartman and Elizabeth Raye Tighe. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he retired after 42 years from Independent Can Company where he was a Foreman. He was an avid fan of boxing, the Ravens and Orioles and was also an avid fisherman, bowler and horseshoe player. He enjoyed family vacations and traveling to Las Vegas.

Mr. Hartman is survived by his wife of 59 years, Candy Hartman; son, Alvin C. Hartman and wife Mary of Dundalk; brother, Donald R. Hartman and wife, Bernice of Spring City, TN; sisters, Sabina Dunnigan of Baltimore and Theresa Shaver of WV; grandchildren, Bradley C. Hartman and wife, Shanna, and Bryan C. Hartman; and great-grandchildren, Brayden H. and Brody C. Hartman. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his stepfather John Tighe.
