Agnes Katalin Merchenthaler

October 26, 1950 — January 27, 2023

Agnes Katalin Merchenthaler was born October 26, 1950 in Pecs, Hungary. The daughter of a Maria and Joseph she was a shining star the minute she entered this world. She had a brother Janos, who was her best friend and when her father passed, he took the reins in raising this amazing lady. Agnes also had an older sister, Maria. Growing up, Agnes battled illnesses from a very young age and continued to battle all her life. But even with all the hurdles that were thrown at her, she stood strong and simply beautiful. Agnes had an enormous amount of love to give.

This love started when she met her husband Istvan. Married in November of 1969 they shared a love that only exists in storybooks. Their marriage was one people will talk about for endless years to come. Even after 54 years together, they were truly in love. This is a gift only a few experience in life, and that they did.

Agnes’s love shined even more with the amazing relationship she had with her three children. Istvan, Boglarka and Nora. She was not only a mother to them but truly a best friend, confidant, protector and was everything to each of them. Her sons-in-law, Rudy and Armin, thought of her as “mom,” because that is how she treated them, as her own.

Her greatest joy resonated in the love she had for her grandchildren. Being blessed with 5 grandchildren Anabella, Alana, Istvan, Gino and Nico she found such happiness. She was and will always be such a vital part of their lives. The love they too have for her words cannot describe.

Agnes had a light about her that even when she walked in a dark room, she brought a glimmer of light. Always the life of the party, everyone who spent even a minute with her, simply loved her. She will always be in our hearts and now she can shine from above as the angel she was and will be forever and ever. Passing January 27, 2023 at 5:55am God called her to be with him and she is now at peace with her parents, brother and many dear friends.
