Walter E. Hunt Jr.

Walter E. Hunt, Jr., age 88, of Forest Hill, MD, was called by his heavenly Father on February 5, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family.  Walt and his lovely bride, Mary E. (Lane), were married for 61 years.  He was the father of Mary Sporre and husband Scott; Anne Hunt; Walter and his wife Susan; Sandra Crouse and husband James; Dr. Christina Dixon and husband Kevin; Noel Hunt; and Karen Miller and husband William.  Grandchildren include Olen D. Smith, III, Jaimie Caldwell and wife Jennifer, Holly Fox and husband Thomas, Ashley Hunt, Brianna Hunt, Carley Hunt, Alysia Ciurca, Carson Hunt, Kylie Hunt, Jacob Crouse and wife Teresa, Jaden Dixon, Rachel Dixon, William R. Miller, Camden Miller, and his treasured great grandson.  Walt was predeceased by his parents Walter E. Hunt, Sr., and Hilda; brothers John and George Hunt; sons James and Richard; and granddaughter Sydney Crouse.  Walt always bragged that he had the prettiest granddaughters in all of Harford County, and he was tremendously proud of his grandsons. 

An electrician by trade, he was a member of IBEW Local 24, had worked at C&P Telephone Co., Western Electric, was a member of the UAW Local 239, and retired from General Motors in 2000.  He also served Stateside in the Navy during the Korean War.  Walt was a member of St. Ignatius Church in Hickory for 52 years and was a member of the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus Council 9729. 

Donations may be made in Walt's memory to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
