Violet Jane Spies

Violet Spies, age 89, of Aberdeen, MD passed away on September 14, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Reneck, WV, she was the daughter of the late Henrey and Nita (McMillian) Stanley and wife of the late William J. Spies. She grew up on a farm full of chickens, turkeys, billy goats, pigs and hogs. She loved to crochet and do word find puzzles. She and her husband loved blue grass music and in their earlier days it was a big part of their lives. When William retired, she did as well and really enjoyed home life and the time she was able to spend with her family.

Mrs. Spies is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Bob) Alley of Forest Hill; son, Ronald (Brenda) Spies of Live Oak, FL; grandchildren, Amanda Tejada, James Alley, Angela Hines, Brian Spies and Sarah Spies.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Joyce Spies, son Gary Spies, brothers, Hughy Stanley, Sammy Stanley and Ray Stanley and sisters, Loney "Ginger" Stanley and Virginia Stanley.
