Vernon R. Jiles

Vernon Refell Jiles, of Abingdon, MD, died at the age of 74 on November 21, 2016 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. He was born in Monroe, LA to Willie Refell Jiles and Katie Ramos. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he worked as a security guard at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Lee (Manoske) Jiles; daughters, Melinda Lee Jiles of Abingdon, Kimberly Gail Baldwin of Kentucky and Karen Caprice Kefauver of Darlington and her husband, Dale Kefauver; grandchildren, Caprice Beth Kefauver, Ellen Naomi Dooley and her husband, Lewis, Dale Benjamin Kefauver, Charles Allen Delp Jr., Jessica Leigh Nebus, Andrea Nebus and Keisha Nebus; great-grandchildren, Somaya, Kaydon and Keegan; and his sister, Janice McDowell of Texas.
