Thomas Michael Maciag

July 19, 1951 — June 12, 2021

Thomas Maciag, known to his friends and family as “Mace” or “Maceman”, a loving husband, caring father, amazing grandfather and a loyal friend has taken his last breath on June 12th, 2021 at the age of 69 in his home in Bel Air Maryland.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Maciag; his daughters and their families: Erica & David Wolfkill Jr. (Samantha and Addison) and Nicole and Darin Marszalek (Lucas); his brother George Maciag his wife Stephanie, sister Marybeth Bayle and her spouse Shawn and their daughter Lauren; Sister Christine Minner and her son Russell Minner. He is also survived by his sister-in-law- Sandy Gehringer and her spouse Michael with nephews and a niece. He has been the glue of the family and is also loved by all his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Thomas was born to Michael and Helen Maciag in Allentown Pennsylvania in July of 1951. He was the class clown that everybody loved to be around. He once even started a fire in a closet that he was locked in by a teacher! He was the consummate sales professional, starting early on with a lawn business with his buddy Bob Noll. He began building strong relationships then for Hess’s and that led him to his ultimate successful career with Panasonic. (His passion for singing Sinatra/Billy Joel songs didn’t yield income, only the best of memories) His Sales acumen was definitely passed to his daughter Erica, and his way with people to Nicole. Panasonic moved the family to Ohio. He sold Donna on a dream lake property where MANY memories were made. In 1994, Panasonic relocated Thomas and his family to Bel Air, Maryland where the immediate family resides.

Thomas was a devoted husband and father. He showed endless love to Donna. He taught his daughters to work hard and play harder. He made sure to always put family first. He showed this with his endless actions such as: just because presents, watching his grandkids although he would NEVER change a diaper, calling his friends, sending cards and letters with handwriting no one could read, slipping in a twenty dollar bill in his daughters car for gas money, always making the best tomato dishes, making sure that we always celebrated with family for all occasions and most of all, he gave the best, softest encapsulating hugs that radiated his love. These last 10 years Donna put him first and was the ultimate caregiver. They showed everyone what true love means. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A funeral service is scheduled at McComas Family Funeral Home, 50 West Broadway, Bel Air, MD 21014. A celebration of life reception will follow.
