Rufus C. Jordan

Rufus C. Jordan, age 88, of Bel Air, MD passed away on March 31, 2018 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Born in Sparta, NC, he was the son of Houston Jordan and Ruby Mae (Crouse) Jordan Billings. He married Notrie L. Smith in 1948 and they were married for 69 years, upon his passing. A Harford County resident since 1946, he worked at Prospect Mill for 42 years as a truck driver. He loved to garden and take care of flowers, and liked sharing all that he was able to grow. Rufus wore many hats as a husband, father, brother, pop-pop, uncle, neighbor and friend.

Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife, Notrie Luceil Jordan; daughter, Linda Lee Testerman (Jerold); brother, Kyle Jordan; two sisters, Doris Dotson and Reba Wyatt; grandchildren, Douglas and Daniel Testerman; great grandchildren, Samantha, Laura, Blake and Audrey; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Homer Jordan, Junior Eli Billings, P.K. Jordan and Cecil Jordan.
