Ronald ''Chief'' Gary Mcbee Sr.

June 12, 1947 — December 28, 2014

Ronald "Chief" Gary McBee Sr., age 67, of Fallston, MD, passed away on December 28, 2014 at his home. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Ralph C. "Mac" McBee and Isabelle Nellie Barnes McBee. A 1965 graduate of Mergenthaler Technical Institute, he became a Master Plumber in 1984 which led to the beginning of Best Mechanical, Inc. which he built from the ground up out of his home. Starting in 1987 as a father/son operation which included one to two employees, it later expanded to an average work force of about 25 highly skilled employees. During his career, he worked with numerous projects which included the famed Hippodrome Theater, a nine year renovation at the U.S. Naval Academy, Keswick Multicare Facility, Michaelson Hall, United Baptist Church and also did a lot of plumbing remodeling work with Whiting-Turner. He managed and led a crew of eager men for each project and never skimped, always did things first class. Ronald knew how to get the best out of each individual, repeat commercial skills and always looked for, and brought out the best, in everyone that he worked with. He served as a Director for the Maryland Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors and loved NASCAR, boating and fishing, and classic cars, and attended Mountain Christian Church in Joppa. The plumbing industry lost a great influence with his passing.

Mr. McBee is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Theresa A. McBee; children, Bethany-Kate McBee of Fallston, Kelly McCarthy and husband, Norman Sr., of Fallston, Ronald G. McBee Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Forest Hill, James McBee and wife, Julie, of Perry Hall, stepsons, Joshua Cecil and wife, Sue, of Georgetown, DE and Jonathan Cecil of Baltimore; sister, Doloris Pinckney of Forest Hill; grandchildren, Lindsay, Katelyn, Samantha, Andrew and Cameron McBee, Norman McCarthy Jr., and Amber, Dylan and Shane Cecil.

Pallbearers will be Derron Pinckney, Andy McBee, Norman McCarthy Jr., Josh Cecil, Jonathan Cecil and Jim McBee.
