Robert Emmet Hanson

Robert Emmet Hanson, age 77, of Aberdeen, Maryland passed away on August 3, 2022, at Sterling Care in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of William Franklin and Emily (Mitchell) Hanson and loving companion of the late Jewel Dean Hall. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post 128 in Aberdeen where he was a past commander, finance officer for nearly 40 years and most recently, the post adjutant.   He was also a member of the VFW Post 10028 in Aberdeen. Bob was an avid Orioles fan, loved his pets and he enjoyed traveling particularly to Tennessee to visit Jewel’s family.     

Bob is survived by his brother, David Mitchell Hanson (Dinah); nieces, Tammy H. Barber and Courtney H. Anderson, step-nieces Jessica L. Phillips and Lauren R. Driver  and nine grandnieces and nephews  Bob is also survived by Jewel’s children and grandchildren  and eight great grandchildren, whom he loved and looked out for as his own, daughters, Teresa H. Dixon and Pamela J. Hall; son, Glenn A. Hall; grandchildren, Robby and Richard Vincenti, Jessica Dixon Bieber, Sara Dixon Stocksdale, and Billy Latham-Hall. 

In addition to his parents and his companion, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Benjamin David Franklin Hanson.
