Robert "Bob" Kranz Sr.

Robert "Bob" Kranz, Sr., age 79, of Abingdon, Maryland passed away on October 5, 2020 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore City, Maryland, on July 17th, 1941, he was the only son of the late Melvin and Madeline (Miller) Kranz and husband of the loving Elizabeth Jean Kranz for 55 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Bob enlisted in 1959 and served for 27 years, both active duty and reserve. He was aboard submarines and submarine support facilities. Mr. Kranz retired in 1998 with the rank of Chief Petty Officer, he also worked at Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Sparrows Point for thirty plus years as well as for contractors at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 20 years

In addition to his wife Elizabeth Jean Kranz. Robert is survived by; three sons, Charles Kranz, Robert Lee Kranz, Jr., David Kranz; 6 grandchildren;13 great grandchildren.

Services with full military honors will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 with ashes to be scattered at sea at a later date.
