Retha Mae Wilson

Retha Mae Wilson, age 92, of Abingdon, Maryland passed away on June 14, 2021 at home, surrounded by her family. Born in Ennice, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Kellie and Loda (Bedsaul) Murphy and loving wife of 55 years to the late Edward Carl Wilson. Retha was an active lifetime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Bel Air. She sang in the choir and was active in every aspect of the church. She especially loved the music of the church. She was dedicated to the service of the Lord and enjoyed spreading the word of God. Even in her elder age, she continued to write “get well” cards and remained a prayer warrior for members of the church.

Retha is survived by her son, Joe Wilson (Adrienne); daughter, Rejeana Dare Wilson; grandchildren, Erica Kelly Wilson (Daniel Jubb), Laura Marie Ewing (Christopher), Billy Alexander Young; great-granddaughters, Lily Marie Ewing and Paisley Mae Ewing; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Retha was predeceased by her siblings, Alphagene Anders, Glen Murphy, Edna Murphy, Mildred Murphy.
